Some people say there is no truth in advertising. They’re wrong. The truth is Truth in Advertising has been hanging around the Pittsburgh area since 1999. What started out as a group of friends hanging out and making each other laugh has evolved into a beloved acoustic act with two full-length albums, years of performing experience and a love song written for a cat. T ‘n A (as fans affectionately call the band) currently comprises Billy (Seán O’Donnell) and Fred (Fred Betzner). Billy plays guitar; Fred plays harmonica and accordion; both sing; and neither really dances well. T ‘n A shows feature mostly original music, and their songs have infectious melodies and smart, off-beat lyrics.
Songs covered include “Only Gay Eskimo,” “Eternal Flame,” “Bust A Move” and “A Mighty Wind.” “F.Y.I. Love You” has been featured in BandEngine’s Oxjam Compilation and epdisode 2 of the Iron City Rocks podcast . Demand Truth in Advertising and get your share of T ‘n A.
